CHICAGO.

Last time I was in Chicago it was winter... and boy was it COLD! I've been up a mountain and felt warmer. This time, it couldn't have been more different. 35ºC heat meant seeing Downtown by boat was much more enjoyable. Book onto one of the Architectural Boat Tours from Navy Pier.

Make sure you wander round the Southport corridor, which has lots of cafes and restaurants. Have lunch at one of the many Empanada places, have a classic American ice cream experience in Dairy Queen and take a peek inside the historic Music Box Theatre which has been there since 1929.

Catch The 'L' (Elevated Train) Downtown and treat yourself to dinner in one of the many restaurants like RPM Italian (amazing food!) and then head into Boystown to check out the bars.

A massive thanks go to our hosts Ellen, Danny, Maddy and James who looked after us and showed us how to experience Chicago like locals.
